Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), part of AZCON Holding, organized the “AZAL Flight Safety Day” in Baku to enhance flight safety management and promote a culture of responsibility, SİA reports.
The event brought together representatives from AZCON Holding, AZAL’s leadership, the National Aviation Academy, the State Civil Aviation Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, and other partner organizations, highlighting the national carrier’s commitment to high safety standards, development, and passenger trust.
The event was supported by the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) and featured international experts including Giancarlo Buono, Director of Safety and Airspace Regulation at the UK CAA, and Simon Roberts, a recognized specialist in safety management and human factors.
Speakers shared advanced approaches to cultivating a corporate safety culture, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and leadership as integral parts of daily operations.
AZAL President Samir Rzayev stated that the event is of great importance for the airline.
“This initiative not only strengthens the professional skills of our management team but also contributes to the continuous development of a culture of responsibility and transparency. These principles form the foundation of our aviation safety system and reinforce AZAL’s reputation as a reliable and secure international carrier,” he said.
The training program covered key topics, including leadership in flight safety, fostering a positive corporate culture, effective change management, integration of human factors into safety systems, and enhancing the effectiveness of the Safety Management System (SMS).
