Azerbaijan's Agrarian Insurance Fund pays compensation to farmers for fire incidents
The Agrarian Insurance Fund (AIF) of Azerbaijan has paid a total of 29,000 manat in insurance compensation to farmers for fire incidents between 2020 and 2024, SİA reports.
During this period, insured farmers from 16 districts submitted 21 applications related to fire cases. Following investigations by AIF, damage to cultivated land was confirmed in 16 incidents.
After calculating compensation, it was determined that in some cases the damages were less than the deductible amounts. As a result, 28,762 manat were paid to farmers in insurance compensation.
The highest compensation for fire-related damages was provided in the districts of Aghjabadi, Gusar, Bilasuvar, Shabran, Neftchala, Aghsu, and Ismayilli.
The agricultural insurance mechanism, successfully implemented in Azerbaijan with state support, protects farms and cultivated areas from major risks. Among the risks covered by AIF are hail, storm, flood, frost, heavy snowfall, wild animal attacks, actions of third parties, and others.
Fire incidents are also among the risks insured under the agricultural insurance system. To support farmers, 50 percent of the insurance premium is covered by the state, allowing them to insure their farms with minimal payments.
