Shahin Shahyarov, representative of the COP29 Presidency and Deputy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, spoke at the high-level session of the Global Transparency Forum in Incheon, South Korea, SİA reports.
The forum was organized with the support of the Baku Global Transparency Platform (BTP), a flagship initiative of COP29.
According to the official COP29 account on “X,” Shahyarov emphasized that the BTP supports countries in preparing Biennial Transparency Reports (BTR) and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to cooperating with international organizations to advance global climate transparency.
Shahyarov highlighted that transparency is essential for assessing progress in mitigating and adapting to the impacts of climate change, creating trust, informing climate policy, and promoting international cooperation to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.
