The 150th anniversary of the outstanding Azerbaijani poet-innovator will be marked today in Berlin at the "House of literature" with the organizational support of the Coordination Center for Azerbaijanis in Germany (KAD).
A scientific-literary action devoted to magazine "Molla Masreddin" will be held under the joint cooperation with the Caucasian – European Cultural and Scientific Society "EuroCaucAsia".
Samira Patzer-Ismailova, Executive Director of CCAG, First counselor of Azerbaijan Embassy in Germany Rizvan Nabiyev, as well as Prof. Eva-Maria Auch, head of the Department of Azerbaijani History of Humboldt University, Iman Jafarov, dean of "History-Philology" faculty at the Nakhchivan State University will report about the life and literary activity of the poet.
The ceremony will also feature the recitation of Mirza Alakbar Sabir`s poems.
President Ilham Aliyev signed an Executive Order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Mirza Alakbar Sabir, outstanding poet-innovator of Azerbaijan, in 2012.
Under the presidential order, the Ministries of Culture and Tourism, Foreign Affairs, Education and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences prepared a plan of action in collaboration with the Writers` Union.
