Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov has today met Turkish historian, professor Ibrahim Ethem Artnur who visited the Autonomous Republic to attend "Nakhchivan autonomy is a historical achievement" international conference, SIA reports.
Vasif Talibov hailed Ethem Artnur`s contribution to studying the history of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. He said the books authored by the Turkish scholar were valuable scientific sources in terms of learning history of Nakhchivan from 1918 to 1921.
The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly said Ethem Artnur was awarded with the "Services before the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" decoration.
Mr. Artnur praised what had been done in Nakhchivan to develop all spheres of life, including science.
The Turkish scholar said he would continue his activities, and thanked Vasif Talibov for awarding him.
