Washington DC has hosted an event dedicated to the ninth anniversary of demise of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev.
On 12 December, first prayers were made at the Washington Islamic Centre for Heydar Aliyev's soul at the request of the Azerbaijani Embassy in the US.
The embassy will give a commemorative feast at the Islamic Centre on Friday after the Friday prayer.
In addition, a ceremony to commemorate the national leader was held at the administrative building of the embassy. The event participants spoke about the rich and irreplaceable life and role of Heydar Aliyev.
