"The final resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is very important for peace and stability in the Caucasus."
The statement came from Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba in an interview with Bakinskiy Rabochiy newspaper ("Baku Worker").
According to him, Japan believes that this issue should be resolved by peaceful means on the basis of the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and inviolability of internationally recognized borders.
"Our state is hoping that a variety of negotiation mechanisms, including mediation efforts of OSCE Minsk Group, will bear the fruit in the future."
