Ali Hasanov: Azerbaijanis driven out of Armenia are migrants also

"We are waiting when Armenia will keep on the right track. If this conflict didn’t occur, oil and gas pipelines, railways would pass through the Armenian territory. But they lost the chances to join these projects because of Armenian leadership". - Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov said in his speech at the 9th International Conference of Human Rights Commissioners in Baku.

Deputy Prime Minister addressed the Armenian people too. "You must invite your leadership to keep on the right track. We know that ordinary Armenians suffer from the policy of their leadership".

Granting of Azerbaijan’s citizenship to the refugees from Armenia will not create any problems for them to return after the conflict is solved," Deputy Prime Minister told.

"Azerbaijan can never abandon these territories. These are the lands of our ancestors. Armenians created their state there and drove out our people. But these territories belong to Azerbaijan. Though we do not have claims for these territories as independent Azerbaijani lands, we will demand that our people live there," he said.
