Azerbaijan is developing a State Anticancer Program, rector of Azerbaijan Medical University Ahliman Amiraslanov told journalists, SIA reports.
He said that many countries around the world have state anticancer programs and Azerbaijan is also developing such a program. Amiraslanov stated that it is not so easy and depends not only on doctors and Heath Ministry: "It should be a complex program not covering only diagnosis and treatment, but also preventive measures, protection of environment, fight against smoking, nutritional factors, role of foods in malignant tumors, proper nutrition, proper lifestyle that will reduce number of cancer patients in the future. This is a large program and is being worked on. The program is likely to be adopted, but it is difficult to say when it will be."
