The Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan appealed to the Prosecutor General of the Swiss Confederation for criminal charges against Vartan Sirmakes, the prosecutor general’s office told SIA.
The prosecutor general’s office has investigated materials received from the ministries of foreign affairs, and economy and industry of Swiss citizen Vartan Sirmakes, the co-founder and chief executive director of "Franck Muller Group" Company, having engaged in illegal economic and other activities in the Armenian-occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
The investigation revealed that, in order to conduct propaganda of illegal regime on international development on the occupied Azerbaijani territories, Sirmakes, in collusion with a group of persons got engaged in these areas of illegal economic activities. There were suspicions that Sirmakes illegally crossed the state border without the permission of state agencies of Azerbaijan to attend the opening ceremony of a gold mine in the Veyneli village of Zangilan and undertook hostile acts which threaten the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Investigative operational actions are underway.
