Florian Hahn, the member of German Bundestag, the chairman of working group on Foreign Policy parliamentary fraction of the Christian Democratic Union/ Christian-Social Union (CDU/CSU), commented on the aggressive position of Armenia on the Ramil Safarov’s extradition to Azerbaijan. The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) reports that the parliamentarians adopted a document on 20th anniversary on the occupation of the Azerbaijani territories situated in Nagorno Karabakh and its suburbs since 1992. The document underlined that the sides to think over in detail the current form of the settlement of the conflict and give impetus to the settlement process. The peaceful settlement of the conflict and normalization of relations will create economic and social stimulus in the region. In this regard, the reactions of Armenia on the Ramil Safarov’s extradition to Azerbaijan cause more anxiety."
Florian Hahn noted that Armenia uses this legal extradition against Hungary: "Armenia uses this legal extradition against our European partner Hungary. The continuation of Armenia’s efforts against the legal acts of the Hungarian government based on international legal norms can harm the ceasefire regime in the Southern Caucasus and cause its violation. Together with its friends in the OSCE, NATO and UN Germany will pay much attention to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. However, these efforts should not be stopped by such reactions, as suspense of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Hungary. Such actions prevent the EU dialogue with Armenia within the Eastern Partnership."
