The appeal reads:
"Dear, Khamenei!
We are strongly concerned about arrest of our two young poets – members of the Writers’ Union Farid Huseyn and Shahriyar del Gerani in Iran. The Writer’s Union has immediately issued a statement after receiving this information. Now I address You. You received us in Tehran when I was in composition of the Azerbaijani delegation. You recalled our great poet Shahriyar during the reception and spoke about your friendship with him and even You read some couplets from his poem "Heydar Babaya Salam".
I hope that You will not remain indifferent to the fate of the two young poets – who are spiritual children of Shahriyar and I hope that you will use your image and opportunity for release of our two talented poets,".
