Azerbaijan is an important partner of Kazakhstan, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov said on Monday at a meeting with the heads of several leading media outlets of the CIS countries. They arrived in Astana to attend the sixth Forum of European and Asian Media (FEAM). The meeting was also attended by SIA Agency Director General Bahruz Guliyev.
"Azerbaijan is an important partner of Kazakhstan. It is essential for us to cooperate with Azerbaijan on the Caspian Sea issues and hydrocarbons transportation," Mr Masimov said commenting on the dynamics of cooperation between the two countries.
He said the traditional routes through which Kazakhstan transports full loads of hydrocarbons through Russia are very important for the country, but 'other routes of transportation of energy resources and commodities particularly through Azerbaijan are very important for us'.
"We are also trying to use other countries' routes, including China," Mr Masimov added.
