Azerbaijan is marking 20th anniversary of its independence.

In this respect, the Azerbaijani youth is committed to contribute to development of our country.

The remarks came from Jeyhun Osmanli, member of Milli Majlis, chairman of Ireli Public Union, while talking about goals of the World Youth Festival.

The project aims to bring together young people from various countries and introduce them to rich culture, traditions and history of independent Azerbaijan which has deep historical roots and also declare to the whole planet the importance of maintaining peace and unity, MP said.

"The festival is expected to be attended by over 100 young leaders. Why Ganja? As you know, this year marks 870th anniversary of great poet of the East Nizami Ganjavi. We have therefore decided to hold the festival in Ganja, one of the ancient cities of Azerbaijan, which is also a birthplace of the great poet. Excursions to Gabala, Shaki, Shamkir and Tovuz will also be organized as part of the festival.

The World Youth festival shows that not only our capital, but also districts of the country are ready to host high-profile international events\', Osmanli added.
