Azerbaijan to spare no effort to restore its territorial integrity - President Ilham Aliyev
Azerbaijan will never disavow its principal position on Nagorno Karabakh, said country’s President Ilham Aliyev.

'Azerbaijan has a principled position based on both historical truth and norms of international law. We will not give up this position. The territorial integrity of Azerbaijan will never be a subject of discussions', Aliyev said Monday at an expanded session of the government on results of socioeconomic development of the country by results of the nine months of this year.

The president voiced regret that no serious results have been achieved in the resolution of the conflict and noted that Azerbaijan ‘spares no effort to restore its territorial integrity’.

Aliyev said that Armenia’s withdrawal of its nomination for nonpermanent membership in the UN Security Council comes from the awareness of its weakness compared to Azerbaijan which also nominated for this position.

'They (Armenians) are powerless against Azerbaijan and they admit. They are aware that the occupational policy against Azerbaijan, their smeary actions and cowardish plans will never be supported by the world community. On the contrary, the world community condemns and will continue condemning them. The result of it is that Armenia withdrew its candidacy, which occurred quietly so that nobody could notice this shame', the head of the state said.

"I hope that in the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno Karabakh, they will demonstrate the same approach, think it over and realize that they are unable to compete Azerbaijan in any sphere", Aliyev said.

Voting on Azerbaijan’s election to nonpermanent members in the UN Security Council will be held in New York on Monday.
