Azerbaijan to ban import, production, and sale of 60W and above lamps from next year

The import, production, and sale of incandescent lamps with a power of 60 W and above are prohibited, this is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Law "On the efficient use of energy resources and energy efficiency," discussed at today's meeting of the Natural Resources, Energy, and Environment Committee of the Milli Majlis, APA reports.

According to the draft, except for incandescent lamps intended for special use in production processes and products whose main purpose is not lighting, the import, production, and sale of electric incandescent lamps used for lighting in an alternating current circuit are prohibited from the following dates:

Incandescent lamps with a power of 60 W and above — from January 1, 2026;

Incandescent lamps with a power from 25 W (including 25 W) to 60 W — from July 1, 2026.
