USAID transferred most of funds allocated to Armenia prior to shut down

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) was able to transfer almost half of the $250 million promised to Armenia before it was shut down, the Armenian Foreign Ministry told Sputnik Armenia, SİA informs.

In 2024, the country received $110 million from the general grant agreement package with USAID.

"About $60 million of the total amount will be directed to 'strengthening economic security', $18.9 million to the state apparatus for 'effective governance', $13.6 million to civil society and the media. At the same time, $1 million is allocated for humanitarian assistance," Sputnik said.
