An attack on Belarus will not necessarily lead to a nuclear response, but in an extreme situation it will, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in an interview with US blogger Mario Nawfal, SİA informs via BelTA.
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, President Putin believes that there are no major reasons today for unleashing a nuclear war.
“He understands better than anyone what this could lead to. Therefore, you can take my word for it, Putin never took the remote control to press this red button. If only aggression is committed against Belarus and Russia, then all methods of response will be used,” the president remarked.
Even if aggressed, Belarus and Russia will not necessarily use nuclear weapons immediately. “There are many other methods, including diplomatic ones or the use of conventional weapons and so on. Oreshnik, for example, and many more. No one is going to press the nuclear button. These weapons are for the situations of extreme threat. That is exactly what the USA will do in such a situation,” the Belarusian leader noted.
