Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Aykhan Hajizada, has responded to French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Boillon, Aykhan Hajizade has written in this regard on X, SİA reports.
"Madam Ambassador Anne Boillon, attempting to cover up the government’s failures is one of the indicators of an unsuccessful state."
He noted that measuring the success of France's foreign policy by the number of visa applications seems to be a new method: "However, this strategy’s failure to reflect accurate facts points to poor analysis and flawed foreign policy.
"The Ambassador knows well that the French Embassy in Baku does not issue visas solely for trips to France.
The real indicator is, actually, this: despite the biased policy against our country and the travel warning issued since September of this year, applications from French citizens to travel to Azerbaijan have increased compared to the same period last year (September 2023: 536, October 2023: 467; September 2024: 562, October 2024: 605)."
