Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, is set to host an International Carpet Festival in May 2025, according to Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), who spoke during the Azerbaijan-Spain business forum held in Baku, Report informs.
The event builds on the success of the National Carpet Festival, which took place in Baku from May 4-5, 2024.
"We are taking this festival to a global stage," Abdullayev stated. Organized in collaboration with Azerkhalcha OJSC and the Administration of Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve, the festival will feature an international forum on carpet weaving, master classes, live presentations, and an exhibition of rare carpets. Additionally, the event will include the presentation of the Made in Azerbaijan brand.
"I invite you to be part of this unique experience," he added.
Abdullayev also emphasized the significance of the Azerbaijan-Spain business forum in strengthening bilateral economic ties. "Last year, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services, enhancing institutional collaboration," he noted.
Discussions at the forum also covered sectoral partnerships, infrastructure projects such as transportation and water desalination, potential cooperation in the wine industry, and agreements in defense and engineering fields.
