Ali Abbasov signs order on providing internet services, mobile communication and broadcasting to IV Islamic Solidarity Games
Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov signed an order on providing telecommunication services to the upcoming IV Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in Baku in 2017.
Under the order, structural units of the ministry, operators of fixed and mobile communications are instructed to ensure uninterrupted provision of telecommunication services, Internet services and mobile communications in all places of the Games.
For this purpose, a headquarters was set up in the ministry, the head of which was appointed Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Iltimas Mammadov.
Members of the headquarters are also the heads of departments of the ministry, heads of mobile, fixed, satellite communication, e-Security Center and others.
A working group with other market participants will be set up for the preparation of technical proposals to ensure sustainable provision of telecommunication services during the Games of IV Islamic solidarity and coordination issues arising from the order.
The headquarters is instructed to take appropriate measures to ensure the provision of necessary telecommunication services, mobile services and TV broadcasting at facilities where the competitions of the Games will be held, as well as in other places associated with their holding.
In addition, according to the order of the Minister, there will be need to address the issues related to the allocation of necessary frequency resources, as the need arises, consultants and other industry experts will be involved in the preparation of technical proposals.
All work carried out in this direction will be under the direct control of the Minister of Communications and High Technologies.
