Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU) have signed an agreement on visa facilitation as a part of the 3rd summit of Eastern Partnership in Vilnius.
The document was singed by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Füle.
SIA reports that the agreement was initialed by the parties in July this year.
The document facilitates procedures for certain categories of persons and reduces visa fee and number of necessary visa documents.
The agreement will come into force after the signing of a readmission agreement between Azerbaijan and the EU next year.
