Vorobyev ready for Baku after illness
Russian cyclist ready to compete at Baku 2015 after recovering from illness

Anton Vorobyev, the 2012 under-23 world time trial champion, was forced to pull out of the Giro d’Italia with a case of acute gastroenteritis, and Russian Cycling Federation Sports Director Igor Strutinskijj was subsequently quoted as saying that he would miss the Baku 2015 European Games as a result.

But Mr Strutinskijj has since stated that the 24-year-old cyclist will in fact be healthy enough to compete at Baku 2015.

"Everything is alright with Anton Vorobyev. The state of his health is now normal. He will return to active training in the near future and prepare for the European Games. Therefore we do not plan any changes in the Russian team at the European Games," Mr Strutinskijj told All Sport.
