President Ilham Aliyev has allocated an additional AZN 10m ($12.7m) to the Emergencies Ministry to purchase new equipment.
The president signed the order on Wednesday allocating the extra funds from the 2011 state budget.
Of the AZN 10m allocated, AZN 6m will be spent on the purchase of special fire vehicles and the remaining AZN 4m on buying protective equipment.
The decree instructs the Finance Ministry to ensure the allocation of the said sum.
