"We must put directly our position" the head of the Ses Media Group Behruz Guliyev told at the round table meeting titled "Double standarts of the west: Democracy and human rights" organized by Civil Society Coalition: Support for the first European Games Baku-2015, SIA informs.
"Some persons are against of exaggerating killing of unarmed black man in the US press and find this wrong. There are hundreds of facts about violation of human rights in the US. In fact, today a lot of rallies are held to protest against violation of human rights, killing of civil citizens by police. Killing of civil citizens in rallies, US accepted as an ordinary case. There is also mass of violation of human rights in Great Britain. A number of bloggers, internet users arrested in the US. The protest rallies increase day by day. Recently, the curfew has been announced in Baltimore, US. The national guard and thousands of police went into effect in Baltimore against protestors. The situation is intolerable. But the west does not see its interior condition. Consequently, answering to their unbiased claims against Azerbaijan, we oblidge to say and remind situation in their own country." stressed Behruz Guliyev.
"If the west applies double standarts against our country, Azerbaijan has to put its position directly. They claim that dogs are being killed, cats are burnt in Azerbaijan. After inspection it has identified that this incident has not occurred in Azerbaijan actually. Killing of unarmed man by US police is violation roughly of human rights and the law. Then what must we say on this fact ? This fact is not the only.There are hundreds of such facts about human rights violation in the US." added the head of the Ses Media Group.
Behruz Guliyev noted that, its time to present Azerbaijan broadly to the world : "The First European Games will let us implement the purpose. As well, we should present Azerbaijan’s policy, culture, economical development to the world. At the same time we should demonstrate to foreign guests visiting our country that Azerbaijan is the state where human rights, democracy and tolerance is on a high level. We have to join and struggle together against these claims." he highlighted.
"The west takes frequently unfair position against Azerbaijan. The "black" campaign led against Azerbaijan is not new. During Eurovision Song contest held in Baku also was led grubby attacks against Azerbaijan. They made an effort to discredit Azerbaijan. But they could not reach their purpose. We succeed in being joined in neseccary moment." said Behruz Guliyev.
