"Nobody has been imprisoned in Azerbaijan for political belonging or professional activity" Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Hikmat Hajiyev told commenting on the statement of the US State Department on human rights lawyer Intigam Aliyev, SİA informs.
According to him, official bodies of the US are interested in intervening every court decision."It seems that differed from other states the US State Department follows every court decision in Azerbaijan.
"Intigam Aliyev has been prosecuted over tax evasion and other illegal activities. According to the supreme law, his guilt has been proved. There is not any connection between his human rights activity with his arrest." stressed Hikmat Hajiyev.
