"The resolution on so-called "Armenian genocide" adopted in European Parliament is groundless, biased and frivolous and bright example of double standards." Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry;s spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev told SIA.
According to Hikmat Hajiyev, the resolution promoted by some political circles under the influence of Armenia and Armenian lobby at the European Parliament. Generally using of phrase of "Armenian genocide " are the falsification of history and attempts to interpret it for political purposes.
"The circles claiming the Human rights "activist" role still dare not to express themselves on bloody massacres committed by the Armenian Dashnaks in Baku and other cities of Azerbaijan, in March 1918, Armenian occupation and aggression against Azerbaijan, the bloody ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijanis in Azerbaijan’s historical lands in the territory of Armenia Armenia Khojaly tragedy in the European Parliament." added Spokesman of the Foreifgn Ministry.
The resolution on the Armenian territorial claims against Azerbaijan adopted by the European Parliament at the end of the 80s was one of the steps that resulted by Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, death of ten thousands of Azerbaijanis and more than one million refugees and internally displaced persons.
The European Parliament’s resolution dated 15 April 2015 contributes to increasing the tensions in the region by supporting the unfounded claims of Armenia.
