Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov has today met Executive Secretary of the International Anti-Corruption Academy Martin Kreutner, who is in Baku to attend the "The fight against corruption: international standards and national experiences" conference, SIA reports.
Khalafov said the Azerbaijani Government attached special importance to the fight against corruption at national and international levels.
The Deputy FM noted the importance of the international cooperation against this global threat and praised the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IACA.
Khalafov spoke of the measures taken for fight against corruption in Azerbaijan. He said transparency was ensured in the activity of the state bodies, and highlighted the establishment of the Azerbaijan State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations "ASAN Service" and the Anti-Corruption Department under Prosecutor General.
Kreutner hailed Azerbaijan`s cooperation with the IACA.n He also praised the country`s national experience in the field of anti-corruption.
Martin Kreutner noted Azerbaijan’s announcing the fight against corruption as one of its priorities during the country’s Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, holding the conference entitled "The fight against corruption: international standards and national experiences" in this regard, as well as the third session of the Assembly of the IACA member states as a sign of Azerbaijan’s support of international efforts in the fight against corruption.
They also discussed how to expand cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IACA.
