In Azerbaijan Republic Presidential election will be held on October 9. SIA reports that the Central Election Commission has made decision on that during the meeting.
Panahov said according to article 178.1, Tuesday of the third week of October, when the President’s term of office envisaged by the Constitution ends, is considered the election day.
But that day falls on Eid al-Adha, according to another article of the Election Code, election day is replaced. CEC chairman said that it was offered to hold presidential election on October 9. At the meeting it was decided to declare October 9, 2013 election day and officially start the election.
