A delegation, headed by the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, President of Azerbaijani-French Working Group on Inter-Parliamentary Relations Mehriban Aliyeva, is on a visit to Paris. According to SIA, President of Azerbaijani-French Working Group on Inter-Parliamentary Relations Mehriban Aliyeva visited the National Assembly of France on 21 May. The First Lady was welcomed by Claude Bartolone, head of France's National Assembly.
During the meeting Claude Bartolone expressed satisfaction with the meeting with Mehriban Aliyeva and also noted that the visit will play an important role in strengthening parliamentary relations.
In turn, the head of the Azerbaijani-French Working Group on Inter-Parliamentary Relations Mehriban Aliyeva stressed the high level of bilateral relations between the two countries, while underlining the development of relations in all fields. Mehriban Aliyeva has provided detailed information about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and its consequences.
Then the Azerbaijani delegation met with the head of the France-Azerbaijan group of friendship of the National Assembly of France, Thierry Mariani. The sides noted the importance of further development of relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries, including the strengthening of the working groups, as well as emphasized the need to expand cooperation in the framework of international organizations.
A dinner was arranged in honor of the French delegation on behalf of the Azerbaijani side at the Center of Culture of Azerbaijan.
