Rasim Musabeyov: “I do not think that Yanukovych intends to put in risk those relations between two states.”
The unofficial story was spread in recent days about Ukraine which appears to sell military equipment to Armenia back in 2011. According to the statement by Ukrainian ambassador in Azerbaijan the copy of the official letter of Ukrainian Defence Ministry to the President, which was referred in the news on August 8 2012 in one of the Ukrainian web sites, was falsified. The Ukrainian side suppose that the above-mentioned news aimed to jeopardize the relationship between Ukraine and Azerbaijan; "The friendship between Ukraine and Azerbaijan has very strategic nature for Ukraine and it is our priority to maintain this relationship."
Rasim Musabeyov consider that Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych do not interested in actions which will possible threaten the existent Azerbaijan-Ukraine relations; "I do not think that Yanukovych intends to put in risk those relations between two states. But if the news about the sale of military equipment and vehicles to Armenia is proved to be true, then Ukraine will face a great ‘loss’ in terms of relations that exists between Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Because the cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan in many fields, as well, the trade turnover in military sphere is obviously much higher than it is with Armenia."
