Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Minister of Mining and Energy of Colombia Mauricio Cardenas Santamaria as part of the visit to this country.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the Colombian Minister provided details of the energy potential of the country, expressed the interest of Colombia in cooperation with Azerbaijan.
In turn, Minister Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan has a rich history and experience in oil, provided information about the organization of educational process at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy.
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov made a proposal about training Colombian students at the State Oil Academy.
"Azerbaijan cooperates with a number of Latin American countries. Opportunities for cooperation with Colombia now open up", the foreign minister said.
M.Santamaria thanked Mammadyarov for the proposal and said that he plans to visit Azerbaijan in the nearest future.
