Criticism against Azerbaijan has a made-to-order character, Ali Hasanov says

'The criticism against Azerbaijan has a made-to-order character'.

The statement came from head of the public policy department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov commenting on criticism of some human rights organizations against Azerbaijan.

"Recently some human rights organizations, particularly Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, some German newspapers, even The Guardian have published materials and made statements damaging the Azerbaijan’s image. This work has a centralized propagandistic character. Recent anti-Azerbaijan propaganda due to Eurovision 2012 Song Contest is conducted by two places and one of them is Iran.

They are speaking about unreal things and claiming that gay-parade is held in Baku. We warned Iran many times. I also visited this country. We told them don’t interfere in our affairs and we also will not interfere in your affairs. They hold anti-Azerbaijan actions every week after the Friday namaz. I don’t know where they get an idea of gay-parade into their heads? We host Eurovision 2012 Song Contest in Azerbaijan, but not gay-parade. There is no the word of gay-parade in Azerbaijani language."

'Detention of the two Azerbaijani poets in Iran is disgraceful,' said Ali Hasanov in the press-conference held together with spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elman Abdullayev.

He expressed his regret about this incident: "Thousands of people arrive in Azerbaijan from Iran every day. How can it be if we look at them as spy?! I think about the feelings of the two young poets’ parents".

Hasanov said that the mass media of Azerbaijan took a passive position on this issue: "The campaign about the arrest of two young poets is not one thousandth of the campaign conducted by the mass media of Azerbaijan on the arrest of Anar Bayramli."

Elman Abdullayev said that Azerbaijan’s diplomatic mission in Iran keeps contact with the Iranian side on this issue everyday: "But the Iranian side has not officially responded the fact on detention of the Azerbaijan’s citizens. The contacts on this issue will be continued at a high level."

'Issue of Keshikchi Mountain must be settled by intergovernmental commission
'

'Unfortunately, the current situation of Georgia-Azerbaijan relations upsets some forces. That’s why they exaggerate the issue of Keshikchi Mountain', head of the public policy department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov said at the briefing held jointly with the spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev.

Hasanov said that the territory, where the temple is situated, belongs to Azerbaijan. According to him, there are forces in Georgia and Azerbaijan that want to damage relations between the two countries.

Elman Abdullayev said that this issue was exaggerated by Georgian press: 'The issue of Keshikchi Mountain must be settled by intergovernmental commission. Azerbaijan and Georgia have no argument on this issue. The above-mentioned issue is discussed by the foreign ministers of both countries. The issue of Keshikchi Mountain temple must be solved on legal and normative basis'.
