Addressing a scientific conference held on the occasion of the 89th anniversary of academician Zarifa Aliyeva at the National Center of Ophthalmology bearing her name, the minister said she was the author of many scientific monographs, publications, and works.
Speaking about Zarifa Aliyeva, the minister highlighted her human qualities.
"She was not only an experienced specialist, but was also distinguished by the sincerity and attention in relation to people. Zarifa Aliyeva was a renowned scholar, not only in Azerbaijan but also throughout the former Soviet Union. She stretched out her hand to every patient, every person," Shiraliyev underlined.
According to the minister, the National Center of Ophthalmology founded by academic Z.Aliyeva is successfully continuing its activities.
"Students of Zarifa Aliyeva today themselves teach and cure patients. Today, modern medical centers operate not only in the capital, but also in different regions of Azerbaijan. At the last meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Ilham Aliyev stressed that the Azerbaijani medicine enjoys a great respect not only within the country, but also internationally," the health minister said.
