If Russia doesn’t increase its efforts, no one of the international organizations, including OSCE, its MG can reach serious progress in Karabakh confict solution- Ali Hasanov
In the first years of independence of Azerbaijan, neither was the state dealing with problems of youths nor were the youths engaged in serving the state.
Chairman of the socio-political department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov told the statement to the founding congress of the World Azerbaijanis Youth Union.
He noted that in such situation, Heydar Aliyev coming to power in 1993 began to form the youth policy.
"The united youth policy was established by forming the Youth and Sports Ministry in 1994. Today a worthy youth army is formed not just in Azerbaijan and also beyond it. The World Azerbaijanis Youth Union is one example, which was established by Leyla Aliyeva upon the initiative of the Russian Azerbaijanis Youth Union.
We believe that in coming years, the voice of Azerbaijani youngsters will be heard from parliaments of Germany, UK, Russia, Ukraine, Baltic countries, Turkey and other countries."
Hasanov noted that the Azerbaijani state was ready to deal with all concerns of youths and several state programs were implemented to this end.
"But the reality is that just to be intellectual, know foreign languages and being able to read Shakespeare and Nizami in the original language is not enough to represent the Azerbaijani state.
The Azerbaijani youth should also be active, protected and be able to attack in the right position. Retention of our youngsters at some actions abroad for hours should not break their will."
According to Hasanov, if the youths are not active, they will not be able to become a serious factor in the world.
"We expect much from the Azerbaijani youth. We should be confident that we have youths stronger and more initiative than us for the future. And then we will confidently hand over the administration of the state to them and live our old ages in convenience."
Hasanov also touched upon the newly elected Russian president.
"We hope that the newly-elected president of Russia will increase the efforts towards the solution of the Nagorno Karabakh problem and make it more effective", according to Hasanov.
"If Russia doesn’t increase its efforts towards the solution of this conflict, no one of the international organizations, including OSCE, its Minsk Group, UN, can reach serious progress in this field, because Russia has a great influence on Armenia", said the official.
Hasanov said that in fact Russia had a significant influence on Armenia in the political, economic, social, military and other fields.
"Russia can move Armenia in the constructive direction by exerting pressure upon it. We don’t expect more from Armenia. We expect from Armenia to show constructive position in the negotiations only. We expect from Armenia to withdraw its troops from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, to create conditions for Azerbaijan to restore civil, national and ethnic rights of Armenians and Azerbaijanis living in Nagorno-Karabakh".
