Improvement of ties with neighbors is the top priority in our foreign policy.
The statement came from Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
He was speaking at the third forum of think tanks of the OIC members states on "Changes and Transformations in OIC countries".
"We have almost attained these goals through the years of independence. However, the problem with Armenia have a negative effect on these relations. These relations cannot improve as long as Azerbaijani lands are under occupation.
We spare no effort to improve relations with Armenia. But we still demand from Armenia to withdraw from the occupied lands".
He said that the goal is to establish peace and welfare in the region. "In general, there can be no country that wants its lands to be occupied. We also demand from Armenia to withdraw from Azerbaijani lands within the UN resolutions".
