Joseph Debono Grech (Malta, SOC) and Pedro Agramunt
(Spain, EPP/CD), PACE co-rapporteurs for the monitoring of obligations
and commitments by Azerbaijan, will make a fact-finding visit to the
country from January 31, to February 2.
In Baku, the co-rapporteurs are due to meet the President of the
Republic, the Speaker of Parliament, the Minister of Justice and the
leaders of political parties represented in Parliament.
Talks are also scheduled with leaders of political parties not
represented in parliament, the Chairman of the Supreme Court, the
Prosecutor General, the Ombudsman and the Azerbaijani delegation to the
PACE, as well as representatives of NGOs and the media. In Guba, the
co-rapporteurs will meet representatives of local authorities and NGOs.
The co-rapporteurs will also visit Guba and meet with the local NGOs.
Grech and Agramunt will hold press conference on the results of the
visit.
