The UN appealed to the government of Azerbaijan on the occasion of hosting the International Forum on Internet Governance.
Minister of Communications & IT Ali Abbasov says that this forum is one of the biggest events in the field of ICT, held under the auspices of the UN.
"Forum will be conducted in Azerbaijan this autumn. The main theme of the forum is to protect freedoms in the Internet and at the same time to ensure information security, including state control over the operations aimed at protecting human dignity, national pride, and to prevent similar incidents. Today in the world the state cannot control, unfortunately, such incidents," the minister noted.
He added that it is testified with the recent cyber-attacks carried out by Azerbaijani hackers against Iranian websites.
"We are waiting for a response from Iranian administration on the occasion of cyber attacks on Iranian sites. We have good cooperation with Iran in the field of communication, and I think that if we unite our efforts in this sphere, then information security will be achieved in the region," Abbasov said.
