Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iraq to the Republic of Azerbaijan Haydar Shia Al-Barrak has received President and Editor-in-Chief of Caspian Energy International Media Group Natalya Aliyeva, General Director of Caspian Energy International Media Group Rasim Mahmudov and correspondent of Caspian Energy News Sabina Mammadova.
Discussed during the meeting were possibilities of expansion of cooperation within the framework of the Caspian European Club and Caspian Energy International Media Group as well as the release of the special issue, dedicated to the development of economy of Iraq, in which an interview of Iraq’s Prime Minister Haydar Al-Abadi is planned to be placed.
Ambassador Haydar Shia Al-Barrak highly assessed the activity of the Caspian European Club and Caspian Energy International Media Group. He noted that the economic and energy sections of the Caspian Energy journal are of particular interest in Iraq.
The ambassador views the articles and materials published at www.caspianenergy.net and Caspian Energy journal spread in 50 countries of the world.
He expressed an interest in publication of articles and interviews about Iraqi economy on pages of Caspian Energy.
At the end of the meeting Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iraq to the Republic of Azerbaijan Haydar Shia Al-Barrak gave an exclusive interview to Caspian Energy.
Speaking about prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iraq, Ambassador Haydar Shia Al-Barrak emphasized in his interview with Caspian Energy that "the turnover between the countries totaled about $354mln in 2014. We expect the growth of this indicator in 2015". According to him, "by signing the memorandum between the Ministry of Oil of Iraq and Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan we laid a foundation stone for firm strategic cooperation in oil sphere". Apart from this, the diplomat noted about the agreement reached for developing cooperation in gas area between Iraq and Azerbaijan, development of human resources and other areas".
