The social policy and economic policy committees of the parliament have started debates over the bills included into the 2012 draft state budget in a joint meeting.
The bills "On the 2012 budget of the State Social Protection Fund", "On living cost in Azerbaijan Republic in 2012" and "On limit of need criteria in Azerbaijan Republic in 2012" stand on agenda on the meeting.
Opening the joint meeting of the committees, Milli Majlis Vice Speaker Bahar Muradova said this day marks another important period in the life of parliament and law-making process.
"In other words, we start discussions over bills included into the package of the 2012 state budget," the Vice Speaker noted.
Azerbaijan made quite many accomplishments in economic sphere last year, Muradova added.
"The state budget was implemented in transparent and expedient manner. This led to growth in any spheres including social sphere in the 2012 budget."
On his part, head of the economic policy committee Ziyad Samadzade said the state budget of Azerbaijan has reached AZN 22bn.
"No doubt, this is an outcome of social and economic policies pursued in the country."
