Closure of Google’s development center in St. Petersburg is "optimization," press service of the Russian representative office of the corporation stated, SIA reports quoting the TASS.
"This is a common optimization process taking place not only in Russia but also, for example, in Finland, Sweden, and the United States," Google said. Former employees of the closed development center "continue working on projects in other offices," the company said.
