President Ilham Aliyev has turned the Baku International Forum into a global event, ISESCO Director General says
IV Baku international Humanitarian Forum has today kicked in Baku. UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova and ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri made speeches. UNESCO and ISESCO heads have congratulated the participants of the 4th Baku International Humanitarian Forum, SIA reports.
"Culture, education and science are important for people." UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova told in her video address to the forum participants,
UNESCO Director General as well stated that this Forum reflects UNESCO’s mission in fact: "We express our full support to the Forum. I congratulate Azerbaijan for this great initiative and its implementation."
In his speech ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri said that holding such an event in Baku, the center of dialogue, harmony and tolerance, is significant.

According to Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, the world requires the establishment of a harmonious relationship. We are experiencing a crisis and hard times. The international community is in confusion. We should be ready to cope with the dangerous challenges. The Forum is an intellectual alliance for peace. First, we should ensure the elimination of extremist trends. However, we cannot achieve it without respecting the law of difference.
"The Baku International Forum is one of the most successful events.Thanks to these events, Baku has drawn the world’s attention. An ideal platform has been set up. I would say this forum represents the most transcendental purposes of human civilization. We must build a genuinely humane alliance and this forum is a humane alliance," The ISESCO Director General said.
He noted that a number of initiatives have been put forward with regards to the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Palestine problem: "The UN Security Council has adopted resolutions on Nagorno-Karabakh. Nagorno-Karabakh’s occupation should be put an end. I state this on behalf of ISESCO."
Altwaijri said they speak out against all terrorists: "Terrorism is against the mankind, religions, all humans and individuals. Let’s unite forces and combat aggression and terrorism."
