British Library begins restoring digital services after cyber-attack

Returning online on Monday after last year's cyber attack, the main catalogue of the British Library, which holds over 36 million records, marks the first significant step towards the complete restoration of services for users of the UK's largest library.

However, the catalogue will only be available in a "read-only" format, as the library's chief executive cautions that the full recovery of all services will be a gradual process, SIA reports with reference to BBC.

The library's website was down for nearly a month following the hack on October 31, which was claimed by the Rhysida ransomware group.

Additionally, the library confirmed in November that some employee data was leaked in the attack.
