The Social Research Center (SRC) has conducted an opinion poll among the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan to study public attitudes toward President Ilham Aliyev's activities.
The SRC told SİA that within the framework of the survey, several areas that stood out in the president's extensive activity chronicle during the six months of 2025 and were of particular relevance were selected and evaluated based on public opinion polls.
The results of the survey showed that the president's activities are generally highly rated. Broad public support was expressed particularly for activities in the areas of the Great Return and restoration-reconstruction, military development, foreign policy, military construction, and national security.
According to the survey results, 67.8% of respondents rated the president's foreign policy activities as very good, and 24.4% as generally good. Exactly 1.0% of survey participants rated activities in this area as generally poor, and 0.6% as very poor, while 6.2% of respondents had difficulty expressing an opinion on this matter.
The results showed high public support for Azerbaijan's foreign policy course – especially in the areas of regional cooperation, geopolitical balancing, and cooperation with international organizations.
Methodology
The research was conducted based on quantitative methodology. A multi-stage stratified sampling method was used to select the sample from the population. The sampling framework was determined in accordance with official statistics regarding respondents' gender balance, education level, and age distribution.
A total of 1200 respondents aged 18 and above participated in the surveys.
The fieldwork (data collection) was conducted between June 10 and June 18, 2025. Computer-assisted personal interview (CAPI) method was used for data collection.
The surveys covered the economic regions of Baku, Absheron-Khizi, Mountainous Shirvan, Ganja-Dashkasan, Gazakh-Tovuz, Lankaran-Astara, Guba-Khachmaz, Shaki-Zagatala, Karabakh, Central Aran, Mil-Mughan, and Shirvan-Salyan. The economic regions of Nakhchivan and Eastern Zangazur were not covered in the survey. The surveys were conducted in a total of 41 districts and cities across the country, including seven cities of republican subordination and 34 districts.
Interviewers were instructed before the fieldwork began. They also ensured anonymity in all interviews, and respondents were informed that participation in the survey was voluntary and that the results would be used only for research purposes.
Based on the number of survey participants, the margin of error for the results was 3% at a 95% confidence interval.
