A Commitment to Education and Development
Dr. Vusal Jafarov graduated from the Pediatric Faculty of the Azerbaijan Medical University in 2009. From 2011 to 2016, he completed his residency in Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Urology at the prestigious Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in Turkey. The knowledge and skills he gained during this time laid the foundation for his development into one of Azerbaijan’s leading specialists in pediatric surgery.
Since 2014, he has been working as a pediatric surgeon and pediatric urologist at the Central Customs Hospital, and since 2022, he has been leading the Pediatric Surgery Department.

Dr. Vusal Jafarov performs surgical treatment for a wide range of complex conditions, including congenital anomalies, gastrointestinal and genitourinary system malformations, diaphragmatic hernias, esophageal and intestinal atresia, Hirschsprung’s disease, meconium obstruction, necrotizing enterocolitis, pyloric stenosis, intestinal volvulus, hernias, and trauma in children.
He also provides emergency surgical care for acute conditions such as appendicitis, foreign body ingestion or airway obstruction, testicular and ovarian torsion, and incarcerated hernias.
Science, International Experience, and Innovation
Dr. Vusal Jafarov continuously keeps up with the latest advancements in his field and enhances his knowledge through participation in international scientific events.
He has attended global pediatric surgery congresses held in: 2016 – Northern Cyprus, 2018 – Izmir, 2019 – Doha, 2021 – Istanbul, and 2022 – Prague.
In 2023, he participated in the 40th National Pediatric Surgery Congress organized by the Turkish Association of Pediatric Surgeons, held in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey and the 40th anniversary of the association itself. In 2025, Dr. Vusal Jafarov successfully passed the European Board of Pediatric Surgery examination and received an internationally recognized certification — a testament to his advanced qualifications and professionalism.
His academic work is also noteworthy. In 2019, his article titled “Ectopic Testis” was published in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery Case Reports, part of the Elsevier publishing group.
International and National Recognition
Dr. Vusal Jafarov is a member of the following professional organizations:
• Turkish Medical Association (TTB), Turkish Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Turkish Hypospadias Association, European Paediatric Surgeons’ Association (EUPSA)
In 2025, he was awarded an Honorary Certificate by the Executive Authority of the Customs Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
