The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) expects the average price of a barrel of oil to be $68.6 this year and $64.6 next year in the global market, CBA Governor Taleh Kazimov said during a press conference on the bank’s decision regarding the parameters of the interest rate corridor, SİA informs.
Kazimov noted that the average price of natural gas is expected to be $299 per 1,000 cubic meters this year and $290 per 1,000 cubic meters next year.
According to the CBA's projections released in April 2025, the average price of a barrel of oil in 2025 was expected to exceed $70, while the price of natural gas was predicted to be $304 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Kazimov also added that the CBA forecasts a current account surplus of $3.6 billion to $4 billion for this year, and $3.5 billion for next year.
