After the opening of the Zangazur corridor, it is expected that the costs of companies operating in the transportation and logistics sector will decrease, Kanan Gurbanov, the Secretary General of the Azerbaijan International Road Carriers Association (ABADA) Public Union, said in his statement to journalists, SİA informs.
According to Gurbanov, the commissioning of this corridor will allow for faster transportation of goods: "The reduction in distance will directly impact transportation costs, which in turn will create conditions for lower transportation tariffs."
The secretary general emphasized that the Zangazur corridor will increase transit opportunities, allowing for further expansion of regional trade relations.
"As a result of President Ilham Aliyev's far-sighted decisions, serious steps have been taken towards the development of the Middle Corridor infrastructure. The Baku Port located in Alat is of particular importance in this regard. If these steps had not been taken, we would not have been able to operate the Middle Corridor in this form today. The construction of highways in Azerbaijan was also carried out to develop this corridor, and today we see the result."
