1,846 athletes from 8 countries confirmed to participate in III CIS Games to be held in Azerbaijan

The participation of 1846 athletes from eight countries has been confirmed for the III CIS Games to be held in Azerbaijan, the Baku City Circuit Operating Company told SİA.

According to the most recent updates, 1,846 athletes and 2,666 representatives from 8 countries representing the CIS space (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan) will participate in the competition.

It has been confirmed that 349 athletes from Azerbaijan, 263 from Russia, 259 from Kazakhstan, 257 from Uzbekistan, 255 from Belarus, 202 from Tajikistan, 170 from Turkmenistan, and 85 from Kyrgyzstan will compete in the tournament.

The competitions will be held in 12 venues across 23 sports (archery, badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, canoeing, chovkan, fencing, U-16 football, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, sambo, shooting, skeet shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, trampoline gymnastics, volleyball, women's wrestling, freestyle wrestling).

In the initial stage, only delegations from CIS countries are being registered. In the second stage, registration will be conducted for delegations from non-CIS countries participating in the competition by special invitation. In total, nearly 5,500 participants from 23 countries around the world are expected to join the Games.

The III CIS Games will be organized from September 28 to October 8, 2025, in seven cities of Azerbaijan – Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Shaki, Goygol, and Khankendi. The opening ceremony will take place on September 28, and the closing ceremony on October 8 at the Ganja city stadium.
