A landmine incident occurred on July 10 in the Hasangaya village of Azerbaijan's Aghdara district, SİA informs, citing the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).
According to the agency, Guluyev Gulu, born in 1979, was injured in his left leg as a result of an anti-personnel landmine explosion while grazing cattle in the area not cleared of mines in the Hasangaya village.
The person who fell into the mine was hospitalized at the Tartar District Central Hospital, the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB) said in response to Report's inquiry.
According to the TABIB, the patient, who was provided with primary medical assistance, was sent to the Barda District Central Hospital to receive more specialized medical care.
The person, who was diagnosed with traumatic amputation of the left lower limb at the level of the lower leg joint, will undergo surgery.
Currently, his treatment is underway in the relevant department of the hospital, and his condition is serious.
An investigation into the incident was launched at the Tartar District Prosecutor's Office.
