45.5M manats of investments placed in Azerbaijan's Khankendi, Aghdara, Khojaly

To date, 474 properties have been leased to entrepreneurs in the city of Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts, according to Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, Report informs.

According to Gahramanov, facilities with various purposes have started operating in the region:

"In others, investors are carrying out preparatory work for operation. To date, investors have placed nearly 45.5 million manats ($26.76 million) of investments in the region."

Gahramanov stated that nearly 2,000 people have been employed at facilities that have started operating:

"After other facilities under existing contracts become operational, the number of jobs will reach 5,000. The incentive mechanisms applied by the state in the liberated territories also play a significant role in achieving economic success. According to the Tax Code, residents of the liberated territories have been exempted from income, property, land, and simplified taxes for 10 years starting from January 1, 2023."

Gahramanov also noted that these incentive mechanisms create conditions for attracting foreign investors along with local investors to the restoration of Karabakh's economy: "In this regard, we are also interested in cooperation with diplomatic missions abroad to inform foreign investors about the favorable conditions and incentive mechanisms created for investment in the liberated territories."
